Hummingbird and the evil praying mantis

Yesterday Dave and I were out front and Dave heard bird wings above him. He looked up and realized that a evil praying mantis was attacking a sweet mommy bird to get to her eggs. Needless to say we relocated the praying mantis to the other tree. The tree she is in is super tiny and the nest is only the size of half a walnut shell. We can't wait to see the babies. Check out the praying mantis in the bottom right hand corner.

Larin, We have had baby hummingbirds in our backyard for 3yrs. in a row now. They build their nest on our wind chime.

Sad news, the giraffe w/ the crooked neck passed away last month. And yes, that is all giraffe tounge you are seeing and it is wrapped around a tiny biscuit I'm holding. His girlfriend is a lucky woman!

Crazy! You should open your own zoo. The praying mantis alone would draw crowds.
